Emobi has announced a partnership with Flipturn to add roaming and authentication capabilities to charging sites operated through Flipturn’s management platform. The collaboration connects multifamily properties, workplaces and fleet depots using Flipturn’s software to Emobi’s roaming hub, enabling drivers to access chargers through automaker platforms, fleet tools and major consumer charging apps.
Under the agreement, Flipturn-managed chargers will become discoverable across Emobi’s roaming network, allowing drivers to authenticate, start sessions and pay using familiar methods already supported at public charging locations. Site owners retain full control of pricing, access and infrastructure management while gaining access to a broader pool of potential users and new revenue channels. The integration is designed to reduce the operational complexity of relying on multiple apps for charger access.

A key element of the partnership is a future pathway for Flipturn customers to adopt Emobi’s JustPlug system — a cloud-based Plug & Charge technology built on ISO 15118 standards. JustPlug allows compatible vehicles to authenticate and charge automatically without requiring new hardware or firmware updates at the charging site. The companies said customer-managed chargers have traditionally remained isolated from roaming and Plug & Charge capabilities despite rapid deployment growth.
“Customer-managed charging hubs are among the fastest-growing segments in the EV ecosystem, yet they have often been excluded from roaming and Plug & Charge advances,” said Lin Sun Fa, CEO of Emobi. Flipturn Head of Partnerships Alex Guidry said the collaboration “extends value beyond individual sites while allowing customers to maintain their existing operational tools.”

Flipturn’s platform currently provides power management, uptime monitoring, billing, diagnostics and payment processing for commercial and residential charging environments. Emobi operates the largest EV charging roaming infrastructure in North America, integrating more than 140,000 chargers across the U.S. and Canada and serving over 40 enterprise customers.
