XCharge Europe and XCharge North America have partnered with Mexican charging network operator FAZT Charging to deploy high-power electric vehicle chargers at Soriana supermarkets across Mexico, using the retailer’s nationwide footprint to accelerate the country’s public charging rollout.
Under the agreement, the companies plan to install fast and ultra-fast chargers at Soriana locations, targeting a total of 1,000 charging points by 2030. The first phase includes 30 stations scheduled to become operational by the first quarter of 2026, with a further 80 sites planned by the end of that year. The initial rollout is expected to activate about 440 charging points.

The first branded “SuperFAZT” station is already operating at Soriana Híper Cumbres in Monterrey. Additional active sites include Morelos, Valle de Bravo and Ramos Arizpe. Future locations are planned for major urban centres including Mexico City, Guadalajara, Querétaro and Puebla.
XCharge is supplying its C6EU high-power charging units for the project, offering scalable output from 60 kW to 200 kW. The hardware supports multiple connector standards — North American Charging Standard (NACS), China’s GBT and CCS1 — allowing compatibility with a broad mix of electric vehicles entering the Latin American market.

Charging power will be tailored to site usage. Highway corridor locations will deploy 150–200 kW chargers to enable rapid top-ups, while shopping centres and longer-dwell destinations will use 60–120 kW units.
The network will be operated through FAZT’s mobile application, which will handle station location services, payment processing and real-time session monitoring. The system will also use an AI-driven management platform to oversee operations, automate performance logging and support predictive maintenance to improve charger uptime.

The deployment aligns with Mexico’s National Electric Mobility Strategy, which targets 50% of new vehicle sales to be electric or plug-in hybrid by 2030. Industry analysts say the lack of widespread, reliable public charging remains one of the main barriers to faster EV adoption in the country.
Soriana operates more than 780 retail stores nationwide, giving the partnership immediate access to high-traffic sites suited for public charging hubs.
