Jeep has unveiled the Recon, a fully electric SUV designed for off-road use, with production scheduled to start in early 2026 at the Toluca plant in Mexico. The first deliveries to the United States and Canada are expected to follow, with other markets planned for the fourth quarter of 2026. The SUV is expected to be priced from $65,000 in the U.S.
The Recon is built on a specially developed electric architecture, likely an adaptation of Stellantis’ STLA Large platform used by the electric Jeep Wagoneer S. The vehicle is equipped with a 100 kWh NMC battery, providing an estimated range of 450 kilometres. The all-wheel-drive system features a 250 kW motor on each axle, giving a combined output of 478 kW and torque of 840 Nm. Jeep estimates a zero-to-100 kph time of 3.6 seconds.

The SUV is equipped with an electronic limited-slip differential, automatic hub clutches, and robust half-shafts and constant velocity joints to enhance off-road capability. Standard features include 33-inch tires, 23 centimetres of ground clearance, approach and departure angles of 34 and 34.5 degrees respectively, and a ramp angle of 23.5 degrees. Selec-Speed Control assists with maintaining a consistent speed on steep inclines and declines.
The Recon also emphasizes practicality, with a modular design including removable doors and rear side windows. Luggage capacity is up to 1,866 litres with the second row of seats folded, and the front trunk offers 84 litres of additional storage. The interior includes a 12.3-inch driving information display and a 14.5-inch infotainment touchscreen.

Jeep said the Recon is intended to combine the carrying capacity and robustness of an off-road SUV with a fully electric powertrain suitable for both urban and rugged terrain.
