Xpeng has reached a new production milestone with the rollout of its 200,000th Mona M03 electric sedan, underscoring the strong market performance of its entry-level model. The company announced on Weibo today that the Mona M03 has consistently ranked as China’s top-selling pure-electric A-segment sedan each month since its launch.
Produced in just 14 months, the milestone highlights the model’s rapid rise in popularity. Xpeng said delivery of the 200,000th unit is expected within days, factoring in logistics.

Based on cumulative data, the milestone suggests the M03 will record around 19,400 deliveries in October — its highest monthly figure to date — after total deliveries stood at 180,598 at the end of September.
Launched on August 27, 2024, the Mona M03 remains the only model under the Mona lineup. Priced from RMB 119,800 ($16,870), the sedan costs roughly half as much as Tesla’s Model 3, offering a competitive option in China’s highly contested mass-market EV segment.

The Mona series originated from Xpeng’s 2023 acquisition of the electric vehicle business from ride-hailing giant Didi Global.
While Mona was initially envisioned as an independent brand, Xpeng later repositioned it as a sub-series under the main brand to streamline operations and strengthen market synergy. Last month, Xpeng Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng told CNBC the company plans to introduce Mona series models in Europe next year as part of its global expansion.
Earlier this month, Xpeng also began exporting the Mona M03, with initial shipments bound for the Middle East and North Africa (MENA) region.
