Xpeng has provided further information on the extended-range X9 MPV (EREV) ahead of its official debut in October. The seven-seat vehicle pairs a 63.3-kWh battery pack with a 60-liter fuel tank, allowing a combined range of 1,602 kilometers, according to a company post on Weibo.
The X9 EREV marks Xpeng’s first super extended-range product and serves as the brand’s global flagship model. Chairman and CEO He Xiaopeng said the company is introducing EREVs to address varying infrastructure, customer requirements, and regulatory conditions across different markets, emphasizing flexible technological approaches to meet global demand.

The vehicle has been tested in multiple countries under complex conditions. Regulatory filings with China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) show the X9 EREV measures 5,316 mm in length, 1,988 mm in width, and 1,785 mm in height, with a 3,160 mm wheelbase. This makes it slightly longer than the all-electric X9, while other dimensions remain unchanged.
Xpeng launched the Kunpeng Super Electric System in November 2024, which supports up to 1,400 kilometers of combined range and 430 kilometers of battery-only range.

The X9 EREV will be the first in Xpeng’s lineup of EREV models, with filings also submitted for EREV variants of the G7, G6, and P7+ models.
The X9 EREV is among China’s hybrid vehicles with large battery capacities, reflecting consumer demand for extended-range electric mobility in multi-purpose vehicles.
