Citroen has officially unveiled its first single-seater race car ahead of its debut campaign in the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship.
The Stellantis-owned brand, long celebrated for its rally and touring car heritage, revealed its Gen3 Evo challenger at a high-profile launch event in Paris. The car will take to the track next week for pre-season testing.

Testing begins on Monday at Spain’s Circuit Ricardo Tormo in Valencia, while the 2025 Formula E season is set to open in São Paulo on December 6. This will mark the final season before the introduction of the new Gen4 cars. Citroen enters the championship in place of Maserati, after Stellantis reshuffled its Formula E representation to bring a new face — and a fresh French presence — to the grid.

The team also unveiled a striking new livery and confirmed an all-new driver lineup. Two-time Formula E champion Jean-Éric Vergne has joined from DS Penske, while Nick Cassidy arrives from Jaguar following a strong 2024 campaign. Maserati team principal Cyril Blais will remain in charge under Citroen’s new banner, ensuring continuity within the Stellantis motorsport structure.

The move marks a historic first for Citroen, which has never previously competed in single-seater racing. Its entry into Formula E underscores Stellantis’s broader strategy to showcase electric innovation and sustainability through top-level motorsport competition.
