BYD has introduced new long-range variants of its flagship Han sedan, adding both hybrid and all-electric options to strengthen the Dynasty series amid slowing sales and growing market competition.
The Chinese automaker unveiled four new Han DM-i plug-in hybrid variants, each offering a 245-kilometer CLTC-rated electric range. Prices start at RMB 169,800 ($23,800), extending up to RMB 199,800. The new additions replace the earlier 125-km range lineup, which began at RMB 168,800 and topped out at RMB 225,800.

BYD also launched three new Han EV variants, including two with 635 km of range and one offering 705 km, priced between RMB 183,800 and RMB 215,800. Previously available Han EV versions ranged from 506 km to 701 km, with starting prices between RMB 179,800 and RMB 235,800.
To attract buyers, BYD is offering a RMB 10,000 trade-in subsidy on purchases made before October 31. The 506-km range Han EV receives an additional RMB 10,000 final payment discount, effectively reducing its starting price to RMB 159,800.

The move follows the September 2024 launch of the 2025 model year Han, which introduced upgraded specifications and lower prices, and comes after a smart driving edition update earlier this year. Once a strong performer in BYD’s lineup, the Han has seen a drop in sales in 2025 as competition intensifies in China’s premium EV and plug-in hybrid segments.
