Subaru has introduced the 2026 Solterra, its redesigned all-electric SUV, with upgrades in performance, range, and technology while retaining the same starting price as the current model. The new lineup includes the addition of a high-performance XT version producing 338 horsepower.
The Solterra Premium will remain priced at $38,495, while the expanded lineup adds the Solterra XT and Touring XT trims. The new XT powertrain enables a 0 to 60 mph time of under five seconds, positioning it as the most powerful Solterra to date. The standard Premium and Limited trims also see a power boost, now reaching 233 horsepower.
The updated Solterra is equipped with a larger 74.7-kWh battery pack, providing an estimated range of up to 288 miles per charge. Charging capability has been improved with speeds of up to 150 kW, allowing the battery to replenish from 10% to 80% in about 30 minutes. An onboard 11 kW home charging system is included, and all models feature the North American Charging Standard port, giving drivers access to more than 15,000 charging stations across the U.S.
Other enhancements include a new platform with improved body rigidity, updated all-wheel drive with dual X-MODE settings for off-road use, and standard ground clearance of 8.3 inches. Exterior changes include new lighting, redesigned front and rear details, and updated wheel options. Inside, all trims are fitted with a 14-inch multimedia touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and Subaru’s EyeSight driver-assistance suite.
The 2026 Solterra will arrive at U.S. retailers this fall. The Limited trim starts at $41,395, with the Limited XT priced at $42,895, and the Touring XT topping the lineup at $45,555. Subaru said customers will also receive up to 10 complimentary rental days through its Just Drive Rental program.
