Kia has launched a taxi variant of its PV5 electric van in Korea, adding to its growing Platform Beyond Vehicle (PBV) lineup. The PV5, available in passenger and cargo versions, is Kia’s first fully electric van and forms part of a strategy to offer flexible models tailored to industries including logistics, transport, and retail.
The PV5 taxi is equipped with a 71.2 kWh battery, providing a range of up to 358 km (222 miles). Features designed for taxi use include protective floor mats, rear passenger USB ports, a driver footrest, and sliding second-row doors.

Kia has also introduced an upgraded infotainment option called the “All-in-One Display 2,” a 12.9-inch navigation system with integrated apps, streamlined payments, and compatibility with Kia Connect services.
The PV5 taxi is priced from 45.4 million won ($33,000) in Korea, while the new infotainment display can be purchased separately for 370,000 won ($268) via Kia’s website starting September 16. Kia aims to sell between 3,000 and 4,000 PV5 units in its first full year, with long-term annual sales of PBV models expected to reach 17,000 by 2030.

Future models in the lineup include the PV7, planned for 2027, and the PV9 in 2029. All PBVs are produced at Kia’s Hwaseong EVO plant in South Korea.
