MG’s newly launched MG4 electric vehicle has received more than 26,000 orders within 15 days of its market debut in China, surpassing the company’s previously estimated monthly production capacity of 15,000 units.
To meet the stronger-than-expected demand, SAIC Passenger Vehicle has expanded operations at its production base to a three-shift schedule. The company said the ramp-up will be carried out with an emphasis on maintaining product quality.

MG has also introduced a “Peace-of-mind delivery commitment,” under which customers will be compensated if their vehicle is not delivered within 39 days of final order confirmation. The plan provides 50 yuan (about $7) per day of delay, up to a maximum of 2,000 yuan ($280). Deliveries will be made in the order of confirmed purchases to ensure fairness.
The MG4 was officially introduced at the Chengdu Auto Show in late August 2025 and is offered in five trims. Pricing ranges from 65,800 yuan ($9,140) to 99,800 yuan ($13,860) with limited-time subsidies. Positioned as a compact electric hatchback on SAIC’s E3 pure electric platform, the model is equipped with a six-in-one integrated electric motor delivering up to 120 kW and a top speed of 160 km/h.
