Chinese electric vehicle maker Leapmotor on Monday unveiled the B05 hatchback at the Munich auto show, positioning the compact model as part of its push into Europe’s affordable EV segment.
Deliveries in Europe will begin in the second quarter of 2026, following a China launch later this year, the company said, without providing pricing details. Chief Executive Zhu Jiangming described the B05 as “a sporty coupe for young people,” while Leapmotor also referred to the model as “designed for the new generations of urban trendsetters.”

The hatchback will measure 4.4 metres in length and just under 1.9 metres in width, comparable to the Vauxhall Astra Electric, Peugeot e-308 and DS No4 E-Tense, though it will not share Stellantis platforms. The B05 will feature frameless doors, 19-inch wheels and a design Leapmotor called both futuristic and urban in character.
It joins Leapmotor’s existing European lineup of the T03 city car, starting below €19,000, the B10 SUV priced at just under €30,000, and the larger C10 from €36,000. Ahead of the B05, the B10 crossover will open for orders in the UK this year, with deliveries beginning in winter. The model will offer two battery options – a 56 kWh pack for up to 224 miles of range and a 67 kWh pack extending that to 270 miles – with rapid charging up to 168 kW. Leapmotor said it will be “one of the most competitively positioned electric SUVs in its class.”

Leapmotor is 21% owned by Stellantis, which acquired the stake in 2023 and holds exclusive rights to export, sell and manufacture Leapmotor vehicles outside Greater China. Stellantis has begun distributing the brand in Europe and will expand sales to South Africa this month.
The company, one of the few profitable entrants in China’s crowded EV sector, also announced earlier this year it would supply an EV platform to state-owned FAW for its Hongqi brand.
