Avatr Technology, the high-end electric vehicle brand jointly owned by Changan Automobile and battery giant CATL, unveiled a new concept car ahead of the IAA Mobility auto show in Munich.
The Avatr Vision Xpectra measures 5,843 mm in length, 2,132 mm in width and 1,405 mm in height, with a 3,450 mm wheelbase, making it 81 mm longer than the Rolls-Royce Phantom standard model. The four-seat vehicle adopts a design philosophy Avatr calls “The Energy Force,” featuring sculpted fenders, clean body panels and a glass cabin with a roof stretching from front to rear.

Its exterior highlights include a two-storey headlight design, wide air intake, bonnet-mounted badge and the absence of conventional door handles. The car has no B-pillars, with back-hinged rear doors opening into a minimalist interior emphasised by ambient lighting.
Inside, the Vision Xpectra introduces “the Vortex,” an AI-powered feature in the centre console that aims to create “a deep emotional connection” with the driver using lighting and gesture-based interaction. A transparent wide display sits below the Vortex, while sculpted seats and dynamic lamellas complete the interior design.

Avatr noted that the Vision Xpectra will not enter mass production but sets the styling and technology direction for future models. Its current range in China includes the Avatr 06 sedan, 07 SUV, 11 fastback crossover and 12 liftback. The first Avatr-branded model entered the Chinese market in 2022.
Huawei supplies operating systems and key components for Avatr vehicles but does not hold shares in the venture. Existing Avatr models are available in extended-range electric vehicle (EREV) and battery electric vehicle (BEV) variants.
