Autonomous vehicle company Zoox has announced a new partnership with AREA15, designating the Las Vegas entertainment district as an official pickup and drop-off location for its upcoming ride-hailing service.
Zoox, a subsidiary of Amazon, has been testing its purpose-built autonomous vehicles in Las Vegas and plans to begin offering rides to the public later this year. The collaboration with AREA15 follows a similar agreement with Resorts World Las Vegas announced in June.
“As the world’s first immersive art, entertainment, and live events destination, AREA15 embraces technological innovation and prioritizes the guest experience,” said Mark Stutzman, Chief Operating Officer at AREA15. He added, “Our new Zone 2: The Terminals expansion, opening in August 2025, will drive more visitors than ever to the AREA15 district. With this increased demand, smart and efficient transit options like Zoox will ensure our guests’ experience is seamless and enjoyable from start to finish.”
Located west of the Las Vegas Strip, AREA15 hosts experiences such as Meow Wolf’s Omega Mart, Universal Horror Unleashed (opening soon), and a variety of art installations, dining options, and immersive attractions.
Michael White, Chief Product Officer at Zoox, said, “AREA15 has become a must-see entertainment destination with its imaginative, mind-bending exhibits that ignite wonder and transform reality for visitors. It offers an experience where everyone can choose their own journey.” He added, “In a perfect convergence, Zoox’s purpose-built robotaxi — with its futuristic shape and panoramic views — extends this feeling for visitors beyond the venue.”
