Mobility platform PandaGo and electric scooter manufacturer Silence have signed an agreement to roll out more than 3,000 electric motorcycles for food delivery drivers in Spain and Portugal. The partnership aims to accelerate the shift to electric mobility through connected scooters, battery swap infrastructure, and integrated fleet management systems.
The deal covers the integration of Silence’s S01 scooters with PandaGo’s digital fleet management platform and includes access to Silence’s battery exchange network. The system enables riders to swap depleted batteries in around 30 seconds, significantly reducing the downtime associated with plug-in charging or managing spare batteries.
According to PandaGo, the Silence S01 models are fully connected and keyless, allowing multiple users to operate the same vehicle across different shifts without manual key handovers. The company said the technology addresses common operational issues such as vehicle inactivity caused by lost keys, improving efficiency for delivery fleets.
The scooters are also suited for ride-sharing models, allowing businesses to run multiple shifts with fewer vehicles. This flexibility reduces fixed fleet costs and aligns with evolving labor structures. Fleet operations can be managed through a single software platform that provides real-time vehicle tracking, performance data, and route optimization tools, replacing fragmented systems and manual logs.
“However, there is still a long way to go in terms of professionalisation, management, and coordination,” PandaGo said in a blog post. “Home delivery has grown too rapidly for years without a clear model or solid structures. Today, sustainability is no longer just environmental: it is also labour, operational, and economic.”
