Lotus has finally officially released its first and newest electric SUV, the Lotus Eletre recently. The design is unique as well as cool, reminiscent of an SUV from Italy, the Lamborghini Urus.

Autoblog mentions the Lotus Eletre design is a blend of sports cars made by Lotus, Evija and Emira.

“The combined design of the two is presented in a large car, high ground clearance and equipped with advanced technologies to tempt the market,” wrote Autoblog.

Ben Payne, Head of Design at Lotus Tech Creative Center controls the process of creating the Lotus Eletre. Not surprisingly, for a production car, the Lotus Eletre is almost like a concept car. The reason is that various futuristic elements are still installed in the SUV made by the British manufacturer.

For example, the use of car mirrors made of cameras, face detection in the car cabin, to the LIDAR Scanner mounted on the roof.

Lotus Eletre itself is offered in two car seat configurations, 4 seats and 5 seats. So consumers just have to adjust their choices according to their driving style preferences.

The technology installed is also interesting. One of them is autonomous technology that uses LIDAR. Thanks to this technology, car owners can call the car to walk by itself from the parking building to where the car owner is waiting. All that is done only with an application that is on the smart phone of the car owner.

For power, the Lotus Eletre is equipped with a 100 kWh electric motor. The electric motor can generate power of 600 horsepower. It is claimed that the car’s ability to accelerate from rest to 100 kilometers per hour is achieved in less than 3 seconds.

It is planned that the Lotus Eletre will be sold in China and the UK in 2023. After that, other countries will be able to enjoy the car in 2024. Unfortunately Lotus has not announced the official price of the car which is a strong competitor to the Lamborghini Urus, Aston Martin DBX and Alfa Romeo Tonale.
