UK-based electric scooter maker Bo is preparing to attempt a Guinness World Record with its latest model, the Bo M Turbo, a high-performance e-scooter designed to reach speeds exceeding 160 km/h (100 mph). The record attempt is set to take place during the Bonneville Speed Week in Utah, USA.
Equipped with a dual-motor system delivering 24kW of power and a 1.8kWh battery, the Bo M Turbo is built on an aluminium unibody frame. The company claims a cruising range of up to 150 miles (241 km) at moderate speeds of 28 km/h (18 mph), making it one of the longest-range e-scooters currently developed.
In addition to its powertrain, the scooter integrates a Formula One-inspired brake duct inlet design to manage heat, alongside high-performance Hope V4 disc brakes on both wheels. The current top speed benchmark for production electric scooters stands at around 100 km/h (68 mph), making Bo’s target a significant leap in the micromobility sector.
Priced at approximately $29,500 (€25,250), the Bo M Turbo is not intended for the mass market but aims to elevate the company’s profile. The attention generated by the record attempt is expected to boost interest in the firm’s more accessible model, the Bo M, which starts at £1,299 (€1,500).
The Bo M shares its Monocurve aluminium chassis with the Turbo version and features a 400W motor, top speeds of 35 km/h, and a 48 km range. It also includes technical additions such as steering stabilisation and phone integration, with support for Apple’s Find My service expected in the future.
