Chinese electric vehicle maker Nio delivered 810 units of its flagship ET9 sedan in April, marking the first full month of deliveries for the company’s executive-class model, according to data from the China Passenger Car Association (CPCA).
The ET9, which debuted at Nio Day 2024 in December, is one of the most expensive vehicles produced by a domestic Chinese automaker, with a starting price of RMB 788,000 ($107,220) including the battery. This is more than twice the price of Nio’s best-selling ES6 SUV, which starts at RMB 338,000.

April deliveries of the ET9 contributed to Nio’s total vehicle deliveries of 23,900 units for the month, the company’s second-highest monthly figure to date. Nio did not provide a breakdown of its deliveries by model, but CPCA data shared by local media confirmed the ET9 figure.
The company began delivering the ET9 on March 29, with 89 units handed over in the final days of that month. The model incorporates some of Nio’s latest in-house technology, including the Shenji NX9031 autonomous driving chip and the SkyRide intelligent chassis system.

Nio founder and CEO William Li is actively promoting the ET9 to high-profile business leaders. Notable customers include Robin Zeng of battery maker CATL, He Xiaopeng of rival EV company Xpeng, JD.com founder Richard Liu, and Holger Klein, CEO of ZF Group.
