Lucid has announced enhancements to its 2025 Lucid Air, promising longer range and greater energy efficiency.
The Air Pure, priced at $69,900, now features an 84 kWh battery pack that extends its range to 420 miles (676 km) on a single charge.
Lucid claims this makes it the first vehicle to achieve 5 miles (8 km) per kilowatt-hour of energy, surpassing competitors such as Tesla’s Model S, which achieves 4 miles (6.4 km) per kilowatt-hour, Mercedes-Benz’s EQS with 3.25 miles (5.2 km), and Rivian’s R1S with 2.68 miles (4.3 km).
The 2025 lineup continues to include the Air Touring and Air Grand Touring variants. The Air Touring, starting at $78,900, offers a range of 406 miles (653 km) and delivers 620 horsepower via its dual electric motors.
The Air Grand Touring, priced at $110,900, now offers 512 miles (824 km) of range, up from 485 miles (780 km) in the previous model.
All 2025 models are equipped with a heat pump, first introduced in the flagship Air Sapphire, to enhance range and charging efficiency in cold conditions. Lucid’s latest-generation control hardware, featuring triple the processing power and double the memory of the previous version, is now standard across the lineup.
Additionally, the DreamDrive Premium advanced driver assistance system and the SurrealSound Pro audio system are standard in all models, including the entry-level Pure.
Peter Rawlinson, Lucid’s chief executive and chief technology officer, emphasized the company’s commitment to optimization at the launch event, stating, “The advancements introduced across the Lucid Air lineup for 2025 further cement our leadership position. Lucid Air is the very embodiment of our relentless approach to optimization, enabling Air Pure to use less electrical energy than any other vehicle for any journey taken, A to B.”
