In a remarkable collaboration, Hyundai has joined forces with Rayvolt to introduce a distinctive variant of the popular eXXite Next electric bicycle. This exciting partnership aims to provide customers in France with an exceptional alternative to courtesy cars starting from late May. Furthermore, cycling enthusiasts will have the opportunity to purchase the Hyundai edition of the Next e-bike directly from eXXite. While Hyundai remains tight-lipped about the specific details, they promise that this exclusive version will boast cutting-edge technology.
The newly launched Next and Next Step electric bicycles offer a powerful EPAC 250W motor with an impressive 50 Nm torque. With this remarkable engine, riders can experience assistance at speeds of up to 25 kph (approximately 16 mph), thanks to a clever torque sensor that seamlessly matches the motor’s output to the rider’s pace. Moreover, a convenient Boost button provides instant full power from the engine, making it particularly useful when starting from a standstill or tackling inclines. Equipped with a removable 36V 14Ah battery neatly tucked away inside the seat post, riders can enjoy assistance for up to 80 km (roughly 50 miles) on a single charge.
Enhancing the range even further, the Next models feature an Intelligent Regenerative Brake Sensor (iRBS) and a back-pedal braking system. These advanced technologies not only improve safety but also extend the distance covered on a single charge. For a smooth and comfortable ride, these e-bikes come equipped with a suspension fork and 27.5 x 1.7-inch tires. The handlebar boasts a user-friendly control panel, allowing riders to effortlessly select their preferred assistance level and monitor essential metrics such as speed and remaining battery life. Moreover, for those seeking versatile training options, the e-bike can be transformed into an at-home fitness trainer using the RegenFit accessory and Eiva app, which provide adjustable resistance levels.
The Hyundai eXXite Next e-bike will be available for purchase at €3,490 (approximately US$3,767), offering enthusiasts a unique and high-performance riding experience. Simultaneously, the standard versions of the Next and Next Step bicycles will hit the market at a slightly lower price point of €3,150 (around US$3,400). Unfortunately, Hyundai has not yet confirmed whether this scheme will expand to other countries in the future. As of now, the focus remains on introducing this exclusive e-bike offering to French consumers, who are eagerly awaiting this remarkable collaboration between Hyundai and Rayvolt.
