Xpeng reported a significant rebound in vehicle deliveries for August, with 14,036 units sold, marking its sixth consecutive month of sequential growth. This represents a 26% increase from July’s 11,145 units and a 2.53% rise from the 13,690 vehicles delivered in the same month last year.

For the January-August period, Xpeng’s total deliveries reached 77,209 vehicles, reflecting a 16.75% year-on-year growth. As of the end of August, the company’s cumulative deliveries since inception stood at 477,520 units.

Xpeng officially launched the Mona array’s first model, the M03, on August 27. The electric sedan, offered in three variants with starting prices ranging from RMB 119,800 ($16,900) to RMB 155,800, appears to have received strong initial acceptance. The model is priced at about half the cost of a Tesla Model 3 in China.

Xpeng reported that firm orders for the Mona M03 exceeded 10,000 units within the first 52 minutes of its launch, and surpassed 30,000 orders within the first 48 hours. “With attractive styling, advanced intelligence, and superior drivability, the M03 offers a new flagship model in the AI-defined smart mobility era at an affordable price,” Xpeng said in a statement.

He Xiaopeng, Xpeng’s chairman and CEO, delivered the first Mona M03 vehicles to their owners at the Chengdu auto show on August 30. Mass deliveries of the model are set to begin soon. The Mona M03 Max edition features Xpeng’s XNGP (Xpeng navigation guided pilot) assisted driving system, making it the world’s first mass-produced model to offer high-level ADAS functions within the RMB 200,000 price range, according to the company.
