Leapmotor, the latest Chinese automaker aiming to make waves in Europe, has unveiled its B10 compact SUV at the Paris Motor Show.

Backed by automotive giant Stellantis, Leapmotor is preparing to enter a competitive European market, undeterred by looming EU tariffs.

The B10, set to challenge rivals like the Kia EV3, Jeep Avenger, and Hyundai Kona, aims to offer high-tech features at relatively affordable prices.

Built on Leapmotor’s advanced LEAP 3.5 platform, the B10 promises a host of modern features, including advanced driver assistance systems, a customizable digital cockpit, and smart connectivity options. Two versions are expected—a fully electric model and a range-extended variant featuring a 1.5-liter engine.

While these features are promising, actual specifications such as battery range and power output remain undisclosed. The B10 will need to offer more than just technology buzzwords to stand out in the crowded sub-compact and compact SUV segments.

Design-wise, the B10 follows a sleek, minimalist aesthetic, borrowing cues from its larger sibling, the C10, with flush door handles and slim light bars.

The interior, still largely a mystery, is expected to follow the C10’s simple, screen-dominated dashboard. While pricing has yet to be revealed, the B10 is expected to launch in Europe late next year with a starting price under €30,000.

With competition fierce, Leapmotor is relying heavily on Stellantis’ distribution network, as acknowledged by Tianshu Xin, CEO of Leapmotor International. Whether this partnership will give Leapmotor the edge it needs remains to be seen.
