After revealing the interior of the Volvo EX90, the Swedish manufacturer has leaked the infotainment system of the company’s flagship electric vehicle.
Volvo says the infotainment system on the EX90 will provide “the right information at the right time”. The EX90 is the successor to the XC90 that uses an electric powertrain and new software.
In a video shared on YouTube, the company says that the information displayed on the infotainment screen and instrument cluster will adapt to what you are currently doing, the rider.
Users can talk on the phone, drive on the highway or park backwards and the system will provide the most appropriate info.
There will be a contextual bar at all times with suggested actions depending on the driver scenario.
Volvo has long been known for its safety features and the company believes that the less distractions, the better for safe driving. To that end, the infotainment system only provides the driver with important information while driving.
The company also introduced the Ride Pilot system, which enables self-driving features. However, the Ride Pilot system will not be available at launch and will only work on certain highways for now. The first market to have a Ride Pilot was California.
Volvo’s all-electric EX90 SUV will be equipped with LiDAR for autonomous driving features
