Volvo Construction Equipment (CE) has delivered the first Volvo L25 Electric wheel loader to a customer in Australia. The machine was handed over to Allworks WA Pty Ltd, marking a pivotal moment in the electrification of commercial job sites.
Melker Jernberg, Head of Volvo Construction Equipment, personally delivered the L25 Electric to Allworks, alongside CJD Equipment, the brand’s dealer. “We are proud to demonstrate that sustainable solutions are not just a promise for tomorrow, but a real innovation for today,” stated Bertrand Collette, Head of Market Area Oceania at Volvo CE. He emphasized that these electric solutions, proven in other global regions, will enable Australian customers to achieve their decarbonization goals without compromising productivity.
The delivery was announced by Allworks on LinkedIn, where images were shared capturing the L25 Electric meeting its new owners for the first time. Volvo CE described the L25 Electric as a machine that “combines the proven Volvo compact wheel loader platform with battery power.” Unlike some machines that use electric motors for both drive and hydraulic functions, the Volvo L25 Electric utilizes separate motors for each, enhancing performance and efficiency.
One of the standout features of the L25 Electric is its charging capability. While many equipment offerings are limited to L2 charging, Volvo CE provides full CCS DCFC support, akin to Volvo Cars. This feature enables grid-supported job sites with the appropriate infrastructure to recharge during breaks and between shifts, ensuring continuous operation throughout the day.
For sites without grid support, Volvo is actively working on solutions in collaboration with Rolls-Royce. These efforts underscore Volvo’s commitment to advancing sustainable practices in the construction industry. The delivery of the first L25 Electric wheel loader in Australia marks a significant step towards cleaner and more efficient construction operations in the region.
