Samsung’s Digital Key technology is integrated into its Galaxy smartphones and is compatible with devices as old as the Galaxy S20, Note 20, Z Fold2, and Z Flip 5G.
The digital key is stored in the Samsung Wallet and offers three methods of access: ultra-wideband (UWB) for hands-free unlocking, near-field communication (NFC) for tap-to-unlock functionality, and Bluetooth low energy (BLE) for remote access.

Users will be able to unlock and start their vehicles without requiring a physical key. However, remote locking, unlocking, and preconditioning the vehicle’s interior temperature will still require the manufacturer’s smartphone app.
The digital key is secured through PIN and biometric authentication, and in the event of a lost or stolen device, the key can be remotely locked or deleted via Samsung’s Find service. Additionally, users can share access to their vehicle with others through the digital key feature.
