Volkswagen has officially begun U.S. deliveries of its retro-inspired electric van, the ID. Buzz, with the first model handed over to comedian Gabriel “Fluffy” Iglesias by Volkswagen Group of America President and CEO Pablo Di Si.
The event took place in California, where Iglesias, an avid Volkswagen enthusiast, welcomed the ID. Buzz into his extensive “Fluffy Volkswagen Museum,” a private collection of vintage VW vans and memorabilia.
The ID. Buzz, with a starting price of $59,995, comes with a 91 kWh battery, offering a range of up to 234 miles (377 km). Equipped with a rear-mounted motor producing 282 hp and 413 lb-ft of torque, the van caters to both nostalgic Volkswagen fans and new EV buyers.
Volkswagen also offers a dual-motor all-wheel-drive option with 335 hp, albeit with a slightly reduced range of 231 miles and a price starting at $67,995.
Dealers have so far maintained pricing for the ID. Buzz, although there are occasional listings with markups. A recent example showed a 2025 ID.
Buzz 1st Edition 4Motion listed at $77,385 on a third-party site, while the dealer’s official site had it at $72,385. Buyers are encouraged to compare prices as the ID. Buzz rolls out across dealerships.
