The electric Toyota Hilux introduced in Thailand. Based on the current model, the electric pickup marks the 60th anniversary of Toyota Thailand.
Even though it has been introduced, the technical specifications for the Toyota Hilux Revo BEV Concept are unknown. The changes are most noticeable at the front, where Toyota has designed a closed grille for the pickup while also installing a protruding charging port on the passenger side front quarter panel.
Toyota CEO Akio Toyoda has not revealed when the Toyota Hilux Revo BEV Concept will be mass produced. But he reiterated his belief that Toyota can achieve carbon neutrality with hybrid, plug-in hybrid, battery-electric and fuel cell vehicles.
“To achieve carbon neutrality, we must remember that carbon is the real enemy, not any particular powertrain. And frankly, BEVs are not the only way to achieve the goal of global carbon neutrality,” said Toyoda.
Toyota believes in creating a full portfolio of carbon reduction options for customers, ranging from hybrid electric vehicles, plug-in electric vehicles, battery electric cars and fuel cell vehicles. In addition, Toyota is pursuing hydrogen fuel options such as the hydrogen-powered concept cars GR-Yaris and GR-Corolla.
“As we work to achieve a sustainable future, we need to take a holistic approach to carbon neutrality.”
Reportedly, the development of the electric Toyota Hilux will be carried out in Thailand. Because the pickup type car is very popular in Thailand. In fact, the Isuzu D-Max is the best-selling new vehicle in the country, followed by the Toyota Hilux, Honda City, Toyota Yaris, Ford Ranger and Toyota Corolla.
