Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, recently announced that the company’s next “Supervised Full Self-Driving” (FSD) software update is expected to deliver a substantial improvement in performance. Musk claimed that the upcoming update, version 12.4, will undergo internal release this weekend, followed by a limited external beta next week. This update is projected to result in a “roughly 5 to 10 times improvement in miles per intervention” compared to the previous version, 12.3.
The FSD program has been a focal point for Tesla, with the company continuously working to enhance its self-driving capabilities. With the entire system now based on neural nets end-to-end, Tesla is no longer constrained by training compute power, which has allowed for more significant improvements in the software.
Yeah, seeing it everywhere.
Btw, 12.4 goes to internal release this weekend and limited external beta next week. Roughly 5X to 10X improvement in miles per intervention vs 12.3.
12.5 will be out in late June. Will also see a major improvement in mpi and is single stack – no…

While Tesla does not release specific data on its FSD program, version 12.3 was already recognized for its ability to reduce driver intervention. A 5 to 10 times improvement in intervention frequency would mark a significant milestone in the development of Tesla’s self-driving technology, potentially placing it at a much higher level of autonomy.
In addition to the upcoming 12.4 update, Musk also mentioned version 12.5, expected to be released in late June. This update is anticipated to bring another major improvement in intervention frequency and will feature a single stack architecture, eliminating the need for an implicit stack on highways.
