In an exciting development, Tesla has made a significant price reduction on the seven-seat option for its popular Model Y all-electric crossover. The company’s official website now reflects a reduced price of $2,500 for this option, marking a $500 decrease. However, potential buyers can enjoy even greater savings and an additional perk by utilizing a referral link, as highlighted by automotive enthusiast Sawyer Merritt in a recent tweet.
The revised referral program, currently active in the United States, introduces compelling benefits for new buyers of the Model 3 or Model Y. Those who utilize a referral code or referral link will receive a generous $500 discount on their purchase. Furthermore, they will be granted a three-month free trial of Tesla’s highly anticipated Full Self-Driving Beta driver assistance feature.

Prior to this update, new Model 3 and Model Y customers could only access 1,500 in-app credits. These credits were redeemable for entry into the official Cybertruck raffle or could be converted into Supercharger miles. However, the revamped program now provides an impressive 10,000 credits, equivalent to approximately $1,000. This substantial increase in credits is five times more than the previous offering.
Interestingly, Tesla had initially extended a similar offer to prospective buyers of the Model S and Model X, providing a $1,000 discount and three months of complimentary FSD Beta usage when the vehicle was purchased through a referral. Originally, this offer had a deadline set for June 30. However, Tesla recently removed the time limit and made the offer indefinite, allowing more customers to benefit from this enticing deal.

As of June 2, 2023, if your friend orders a new Model S or Model X using your referral link:
- They will receive $1,000 off the purchase price and a three-month Full Self-Driving Capability trial.
- You will receive 20,000 referral credits.
Starting from July 6, 2023, if your friend orders a new Model 3 or Model Y using your referral link:
- They will receive $500 off the purchase price and a three-month Full Self-Driving Capability trial.
- You will receive 10,000 referral credits.
Beginning June 8, 2023, if your friend orders solar panels or a Solar Roof using your referral link:
- They will receive $500 off the purchase price.
- You will receive 9,000 referral credits.
In other news, Tesla recently made changes to the standard free color option for the Model 3 and Model Y in North America. Previously, the ubiquitous Pearl White Multi-Coat was the complimentary choice. However, Tesla has now replaced it with Midnight Silver Metallic as the new free option. Customers desiring the white color will have to pay an additional $1,000, while Solid Black incurs an extra $1,500, and Red Multi-Coat commands an additional $2,000 on the MSRP.
