Tank, the brand under the umbrella of Great Wall Motor, has unveiled its latest offering, the Tank 700 Hi4-T hybrid model, marking a significant milestone as the brand’s most luxurious vehicle to date featuring the innovative Hi4-T powertrain.
Officially introduced on February 26, the off-road SUV boasts two standard variants priced at RMB 428,000 ($59,460) and RMB 468,000 respectively, alongside a limited edition variant starting at RMB 700,000. Noteworthy is the RMB 40,000 reduction from the initial pre-sale price of RMB 468,000, set in late January.

Measuring 5,090 mm in length, 2,061 mm in width, and 1,952 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,000 mm, the Tank 700 Hi4-T is powered by a 3.0 L engine generating 265 kW of power and 560 Nm of torque, complemented by an electric motor producing 120 kW of power and 400 Nm of torque.
The hybrid powertrain of the Tank 700 Hi4-T delivers a combined output of 385 kW and a peak torque of 800 Nm for the standard versions and 850 Nm for the limited edition. The vehicle is equipped with a 37.1 kWh Li-ion ternary battery pack, providing a WLTC battery range of 90 km for the standard variants and 85 km for the limited edition.

Despite Great Wall Motor’s prominence as one of China’s leading domestic automotive companies, it is evident that the brand is striving to make its mark in the New Energy Vehicle (NEV) market.
The introduction of the Tank 500 Hi4-T on June 26, 2023, marked Tank’s foray into the NEV segment, offering a single variant priced at RMB 335,000. This plug-in hybrid iteration of the Tank 500 represents a shift towards electric propulsion, distinguishing it from its solely combustion engine-powered counterparts.

Subsequently, on September 25, 2023, Tank launched the Tank 400 Hi4-T, its second Hi4-T hybrid model, priced from RMB 279,800. Similar to its predecessors, the Tank 400 is exclusively available as a hybrid, further emphasizing Tank’s commitment to sustainable mobility solutions.
