Suzuki eVX Electric SUV To Become Brand’s First Electric Car

Suzuki has finally unveiled their first pure electric car concept at the Auto Expo 2023, India, which will take place from Wednesday (11/1/2023) to Sunday (15/1/2023).

The electric car, called the Suzuki eVX, has many features. First, the car is a collaboration between Suzuki and Toyota. So there are several elements typical of Toyota electric cars such as the Toyota bZ4X in this car. For example, the front grille is very sturdy to the stern which is full of sharp lines.

The Suzuki eVX measures 4,300 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,600 mm in height. The dimensions are exactly the same as the ICE-powered SX4 S-Cross, 125mm longer than the Vitara, and 45mm shorter than the new Grand Vitara.

Visually, the future Suzuki electric car looks far more modern than the current product lineup. V-shaped LED headlamps, linked to a transparent, fully enclosed grille above the Suzuki badge. The sculpted bumpers also have skid plates, surrounded by plastic sleeves.

The roof and A-pillars are black for a bi-tone look, matched with subtle green and bronze accents under the bodywork. The rear, full-width, high-mounted LED light has 3D graphics and appears to open with a tailgate. There’s also a large spoiler and F1-style skid plate brake lights.

Unfortunately, no photos, the sketch of the interior is not visible through the window, as it is very dark. Suzuki also didn’t announce any electric powertrain specifications, but hinted it would use 4×4 drive.

The Suzuki eVX still looks like a concept car. It is possible that there will be some parts that will be refined when the car is mass produced.

Another plus is the battery and mileage. Suzuki said the electric car is equipped with a 60 kW battery. The battery is capable of traveling 550 kilometers in a fully charged condition.

Suzuki is known to be targeting an attractive segment for the electric car. The plan is that the Suzuki eVX will fill the small electric SUV market. A market that until now does not have many players.

It’s just that we need to wait until 2025 for the Suzuki eVX to actually be sold and mass produced. Suzuki itself is not playing around in marketing the electric car.

They will invest very heavily in India to make electric cars and batteries. “We will invest 100 billion rupees to make electric cars and batteries,” said Toshihiro Suzuki Representative Director and President of Suzuki Motor Corporation.
