Skywell, a Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer, has announced the launch of its BE11 electric SUV in the UK. The model is set to be available for pre-order starting in August 2024, with deliveries expected to begin in September.
While pricing details for the BE11 have not yet been disclosed, Skywell will not directly sell the vehicles. Instead, Innovation Automotive, described as the UK’s first multi-brand electric vehicle company, will handle the marketing of Skywell vehicles along with EVs from Seres.
The BE11 boasts dimensions of 4,720 mm in length, 1,908 mm in width, and a height of 1,696 mm. It is powered by an NMC lithium-ion battery, with options for either a 72 kWh or 86 kWh battery. According to WLTP standards, the BE11 offers a range of 248 miles or 304 miles, depending on the chosen battery capacity. The vehicle can be charged with up to 11 kW on an AC charger.
Charging times for the BE11, from 20 to 70 percent, are listed as 36 minutes to 45 minutes on Innovation Automotive’s website, with a DC charging capacity estimated to be around 60 kW. The front-wheel-drive SUV can accelerate from 0-62 mph in 9.6 seconds, delivering up to 150 kW of power. At launch, the BE11 will be available in a single trim option.
While Skywell is a newcomer to the automotive scene, Seres, its partner, has been preparing for a global launch. Seres revealed plans to export 50,000 electric cars in 2024 and presented two electric SUVs at the IAA in Germany last year. Seres introduced its first electric vehicle model in Europe in the summer of 2023 and has an ongoing development partnership with Bosch.
