Rivian is presenting its customers with an extraordinary chance to visit its manufacturing plant and potentially drive home in a brand-new R1T electric truck without the usual delivery wait time. This exclusive opportunity will be available to customers who can attend the special event at Rivian’s plant located in Normal, Illinois, on Saturday, June 17.
The one-day-only event is specifically tailored for customers interested in the Rivian R1T model equipped with quad motors and the Large, 135-kilowatt-hour battery. Those interested in dual motor variants or the R1S SUV are encouraged to follow the standard buying process through Rivian’s website.
The same-day delivery event will take place between 10 am and 6 pm at the following address: 100 Rivian Motorway, Normal, IL, 61761.
Rivian has specified that test drives will only be available on local roads and not on a track. Customers attending the event will also have the option to trade in their existing vehicles, provided they have the necessary title documentation. While factory tours won’t be offered, visitors might catch a glimpse of the manufacturing floor through windows in the lobby.
With regards to production, Rivian is gradually increasing its manufacturing output and remains committed to its target of producing 50,000 vehicles in 2023. In the first quarter of 2023, Rivian produced a combined total of 9,395 units, including the EDV delivery van, R1T electric truck, and R1S electric SUV.
In a recent announcement, Rivian stated that demo drives are now open to everyone, not just reservation holders. Additionally, the company assured that available configurations can be delivered within 14 days or less, except for custom configurations, which may require up to 16 weeks for delivery.
Earlier this year, Rivian made headlines with the introduction of its in-house built dual-motor Enduro drive unit. An EPA certification application indicated that this drive unit not only enhanced the range compared to their previously outsourced dual motors but also provided increased horsepower.
