Rivian has recently revealed the specifications and features of its mid-cycle refresh for the Rivian R1T pickup truck and R1S SUV, boasting up to 420 miles of EPA range.
The 2025 Rivian R1T and R1S facelifts showcase impressive specs, with the top R1T trim now outpacing Tesla’s Cybertruck in terms of speed.
Equipped with a new 1,025HP quad-motor configuration, the top R1T trim can accelerate from 0-60 mph in just 2.5 seconds, faster than Tesla’s tri-motor Cyberbeast trim of the Cybertruck.
While the starting price for the 2025 Rivian R1T is set at $69,990, it is expected that this price will apply to the base version with a 92.5 kWh LFP battery pack.
However, the top trim of the upcoming R1T refresh may be priced lower or around the same as the $100,000 Tesla Cyberbeast, which is also set for delivery in 2025.
The second-generation vehicles from Rivian will feature brand new premium interiors, including maple wood accents, contrast stitching, plaid textile, and “burnished bronze” decoration accents.
Rivian has significantly increased the energy efficiency of its R1T and R1S refresh models by removing 1.6 miles of unnecessary wiring from the electric system, a move reminiscent of Tesla’s engineering approach.
In terms of user-centric options and features, the 2025 Rivian R1T and R1S will offer a new software menu, keyless entry via iPhone or Google Pixel phones, and RGB lighting in the front LED bar for added visual appeal.
While the vehicles are expected to come with Tesla’s NACS port, allowing them to connect to Supercharger connectors without an adapter, details on the port’s placement are yet to be confirmed. There are speculations that Rivian might choose a different port placement, which could impact compatibility with older Superchargers.
