Rivian Revamps All-Electric Upgrade Offer with $3,000 Discount for Gas Vehicle Owners

Rivian has reintroduced its “All-Electric upgrade offer,” valid from October 31 until November 30, with several modifications compared to the earlier program. Previously, Rivian provided discounts ranging from $1,000 to $5,000 for customers trading in gas-powered vehicles from April to June of this year.

Under the updated program, customers purchasing a new Rivian R1T or R1S from the R1 Shop can receive a flat $3,000 discount, provided they can verify ownership or leasing of a qualifying gas vehicle. This approach aims to streamline the discount process. “This is simultaneously simpler, more lenient, and more restrictive than the previous offer,” Rivian stated in their announcement.

The new offer eliminates the sliding scale discount based on the model selected, replacing it with a consistent amount applicable to all qualifying purchases. Additionally, there is no requirement to trade in an old vehicle, allowing any gas or hybrid vehicle owner to take advantage of the offer by simply providing proof of ownership, such as a copy of registration or proof of insurance.

However, the offer comes with certain restrictions. It applies exclusively to new inventory vehicles available in the R1 Shop, excluding demo, pre-owned, or custom-built vehicles. Furthermore, the discount does not extend to Rivian’s base Dual Standard models.

To qualify, customers must place their orders by November 30 and complete their vehicle delivery by December 31. For further details, customers are encouraged to visit Rivian’s official website.
