German e-mobility firm Quantron AG and Norwegian Hydrogen, a leading producer of green hydrogen and operator of hydrogen refuelling stations, have announced a strategic collaboration to introduce hydrogen-powered heavy-duty trucks in Scandinavia. This five-year partnership will help accelerate the transition towards zero-emission logistics in Norway, Iceland, Sweden, Finland, and Denmark.
Under the partnership, Norwegian Hydrogen will be Quantronās preferred hydrogen supplier in Scandinavia, providing green hydrogen through its production facilities. A new subsidiary called Vireon will operate H2 filling stations in the region. Quantron will take care of the provision of H2 trucks in these countries.

Quantronās QHM FCEV heavy-duty truck is capable of covering a range of up to 1,500 km, depending on customer requirements, making it ideal for long-distance transport. Through the partnership with Norwegian Hydrogen, Quantron wants to offer its business model called Quantron-as-a-Service to Scandinavia. Customers can have the entire ecosystem for hydrogen logistics provided as a service without high acquisition costs.

Norwegian Hydrogen has established a dedicated subsidiary called Vireon to build a network of hydrogen refuelling stations along major transportation corridors across the Nordic region. Norwegian Hydrogen is supported by a group of industrial owners including Flakk Group, Hexagon Purus, Hofseth International, Tafjord and Mitsui & Co. The recently founded subsidiary Vireon is already engaged in building H2 refuelling stations for heavy commercial vehicles in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Finland. It is set to be positioned as the āleading hydrogen filling station operator in the Nordic countries for heavy-duty vehiclesā.
