Dutch charge point operator PowerGo has finished installing 152 electric vehicle (EV) charging points in the Danish municipality of Ikast-Brande, the company said. The project, awarded through a public tender, aims to expand charging accessibility across the region.
The installation includes 138 AC charging points with a capacity of 22 kW, six DC chargers with 50 kW, and eight high-power charging (HPC) stations capable of 150 kW, according to PowerGo. The stations are positioned in public locations such as schools, sports clubs, daycare centers, and municipal buildings. “We want to create a comprehensive charging network that is accessible, affordable, and green,” said Frederikke Fog, tender manager at PowerGo.

The largest site, located on the N185 highway in Ikast, features 16 charging points, including all eight HPC units. Additional 50 kW chargers have been deployed at key locations, including a central parking area, the town hall, and a school.
PowerGo said all charging stations are powered by renewable energy, though pricing is dynamic and varies based on the hourly electricity rate, which can be tracked through the company’s app.
The Dutch provider has been expanding its presence in Denmark, winning multiple tenders since 2022. In September 2024, it launched its largest HPC charging park in Europe at Lillebælt on the Danish E20 motorway, which includes seven 400 kW charging stations.
