Potential Motors has just introduced the Adventure 1, a mini motorhome and off-road vehicle that uses an electric powertrain.
It is purely a recreational electric vehicle with two electric motors combined to produce 450 kW in AWD powered by a 70 kWh battery capable of a range of approximately 160 km. The reach that is only that far can be understood because of its position as a recreational vehicle.
The images released by the Canadian startup show Adventure 1 being dragged behind a real-size RV. Adventure 1 is licensed as a UTV or Off-Road Recreational Vehicle (ORV), meaning it can go off-road but will not be allowed on the highway in some states.
Dimensionally, Adventure 1 is only 64” (1.6 meters) wide, allowing it to access a wide network of ATV lanes and places not accessible by trucks or SUVs.
The Adventure 1 has no greater wheelbase at 105” (2.66 meters), but the company managed to pack a “full-size” double bed and kitchenette in addition to 2,500 liters of dry interior storage and a 40 liter water tank.
There is an interesting feature that Propane, which is normally used for cooking and heating, can be used as a backup charger in an emergency. How much was made is unclear from the announcement.
Adventure 1 comes with a price of $136,600. However, so far, they have confirmed only building a few units without specifying the number.
