According to the State Administration for Market Regulation, Porsche China will recall 6,172 imported Taycan pure electric vehicles from 2020 to 2021. The recall will begin July 30 and is in production between January 7, 2020 and March 29, 2021.

The reason for the recall was a breakdown of the seat belt when adjusting the front and side passenger seat of the driver. The damage has the potential to get caught in the seat adjuster drive shaft. In extreme cases, the passenger auxiliary restraint system (SRS) may malfunction and be disabled, jeopardizing safety.

Porsche China will inspect the vehicle at an authorized dealer and repair the wiring in the harness if it comes loose or the insulation layer is damaged. Previously, Porsche China also recalled 6,072 pure electric Taycans imported from May 16.
