The Polestar 3 has been awarded a five-star safety rating by the European New Car Assessment Programme (Euro NCAP), following the latest round of crash and safety tests conducted by the independent body.
The electric SUV scored 87% overall, earning high marks across all four testing categories: Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road Users, and Safety Assist. In the Child Occupant category, the vehicle achieved a 93% rating — the highest recorded score in that category for a passenger vehicle in nearly a decade.

“With a shared safety DNA with Volvo Cars, there was no doubt in our minds how safe Polestar 3 is, and this five-star Euro NCAP rating simply reinforces that,” said Lutz Stiegler, Chief Technology Officer at Polestar. “Safety is an inherent part of the Polestar performance ethos, so Polestar 3 customers can be safe in the knowledge our flagship SUV is fun and exciting to drive and takes care of them, and the people around them, at the same time.”
Euro NCAP highlighted the vehicle’s strong performance in protecting both adult and child occupants. The Polestar 3 achieved a 90% score for adult protection, 79% for vulnerable road users, and 83% for its suite of active safety systems.

“The Polestar 3’s performance in the Child Occupant tests is tantalisingly close to a perfect score,” said Dr. Aled Williams, Programme Director at Euro NCAP. “It shows how a commitment to the safety of all occupants can pay off in providing outstanding protection in the event of an accident.”
The Polestar 3 includes safety technologies developed in partnership with Volvo Cars, such as post-impact braking, occupant protection systems, and a driver monitoring system designed to respond to signs of fatigue or illness. A network of sensors, radars, and cameras supports accident mitigation functions.
