In a significant move for the upcoming 2024 FIA Formula E World Championship season, New Zealand’s Nick Cassidy has inked a multi-year deal with Jaguar Racing, leaving behind his previous team, Envision Racing. Cassidy’s impressive performance in the current season earned him four race victories, positioning him as the runner-up in the drivers’ standings, just behind Jake Dennis. His wins in Berlin, Monte Carlo, Portland, and London also contributed to Envision Racing clinching the coveted teams’ title, tying with Jaguar Racing.
Having spent three seasons with Envision Racing, Cassidy’s transition to Jaguar Racing is notable due to the close collaboration between the two teams in the Gen3 cars. The Kiwi driver expressed his enthusiasm about the move, stating, “I’m very excited to be joining the Jaguar Racing team for the 2024 FIA Formula E World Championship and I am looking forward to racing for a team like Jaguar that has such a successful motorsport history.”

Furthermore, he looks forward to partnering with fellow Kiwi, Mitch Evans, who has already extended his seven-year association with Jaguar Racing.

Jaguar Racing’s Team Principal, James Barclay, expressed his delight in Cassidy’s proactive approach to joining the team. He said, “He [Cassidy] was very keen to join us, that was something Nick was very proactive on pursuing which was fantastic, [to have] a driver of his calibre when they want to join you. It’s a pretty obvious fit to have two of the top three drivers in the championship standings join us next year.” Barclay believes that Cassidy and Evans form an exceptionally strong driver lineup with a shared hunger for race victories and championship glory.
