New images of the Cadillac Optiq have emerged from China, offering a glimpse into the EV’s interior just before its public debut at the Beijing Auto Show. The pictures showcase the Optiq’s cabin, drawing comparisons to the Cadillac Lyriq.
Similar to the Lyriq, the Optiq features a spacious, curved display that integrates the infotainment system and digital gauge cluster. The center console houses two cupholders and a rotary dial for the screen, with a slim air vent positioned between the screen and a row of physical climate control buttons. The steering wheel and stalks bear a striking resemblance to those found in the Lyriq.
Cadillac has made some design adjustments in the Optiq, including a slightly smaller central armrest and an open storage cubby below the climate control switches, unlike the Lyriq’s hidden storage area.
Built on the BEV3 platform shared with the Chevrolet Equinox EV and Buick Electra, the Optiq measures 189.8 inches (4,821 mm) in length with a wheelbase of 116.3 inches (2,954 mm), putting it in a similar size range as the XT5 but with a longer wheelbase.
The Optiq will be offered in both single- and dual-motor configurations. Single-motor trims are expected to produce 201 hp and 241 hp, while the dual-motor, all-wheel-drive version may deliver a more robust 283 hp.
Although the Optiq will debut in China, it is slated to be sold in the United States starting later this year. Pricing details have not been disclosed, but it is anticipated to fall between the $34,995 starting price of the Equinox EV and the $57,195 MSRP of the larger Lyriq.
