Moke International has opened a new factory in Leamington Spa to assemble its updated electric vehicle (EV) range, as the British automaker expands production and aims to export to markets including the United States and the Mediterranean.
Located in Warwickshire, a region known for its concentration of automotive manufacturing, the facility is expected to produce more than 500 units this year. The company also introduced refreshed customisation options for its electric Moke, including new body colours, Bimini soft tops, and wheels.

The launch event was held at an open day attended by European retail partners, investors and British politicians. Moke International said the new facility had created dozens of jobs and tripled its overall workforce.
“It’s great to be bringing back production to the UK and indeed the car manufacturing heartland in the Midlands, where the Moke was originally designed by Sir Alec Issigonis,” said Nick English, Executive Chairman of Moke International. “As we now celebrate 60 years of Moke, we are thrilled to be marking such an exciting chapter, enhancing our craftsmanship and innovation while laying the foundation for future success.”

The battery-electric version of the Moke delivers a top speed of 80 kph, with a rear-wheel-drive motor producing up to 33kW. It has a WLTP range between 72 and 129 kilometres, and its Type 2 charger enables a full charge in approximately four hours. The vehicle is priced from £29,150 (€33,000).
Originally developed as a military jeep, the Moke has evolved into a short-range recreational vehicle often referred to as a “beach jeep.” The model has seen various production sites over the decades, including in China, France, and the United States. Production returned to the UK after Moke was acquired by EV Technology Group in 2022.

Moke’s latest colour options can be configured on its website, with six exterior shades and two soft top and interior upholstery choices available.
