Lucid Motors has been busy fulfilling promises made when it first debuted its ultra-long range EV, the Air sedan, a few years ago. The automaker has now confirmed that Apple CarPlay integration will be a standard feature, finally delivering on a much-anticipated addition.
Lucid has already released three out of the four original trims of the Air sedan, including the Dream Edition, Grand Touring Performance, and Touring, all of which have impressed car enthusiasts with their range, propulsion, charging system, and luxury design.
While Lucid’s own UX has been more than adequate and has seen improvements over time, the addition of Apple CarPlay will provide drivers with even greater ease and accessibility when using their iPhones on the road.

Apple CarPlay integration will now be available through the EV’s own Class Cockpit touchscreen, and Lucid has announced that its latest OTA update will allow current Lucid Air owners to gain access to these capabilities. The software update will be rolled out in the next week and will also come pre-installed in Air sedans going forward.
As someone who tests out EVs regularly, the addition of Apple CarPlay integration is a highly anticipated and appreciated feature. It provides an easier way to access apps like Google Maps and Spotify, and is a feature that many drivers have come to rely on.
Lucid’s commitment to continuously improving its vehicles is admirable, and the addition of Apple CarPlay integration is yet another example of the automaker’s dedication to providing drivers with the best possible experience.
