Lucid Motors, the prominent electric car manufacturer from the United States, has commenced the delivery of its highly anticipated luxury sedan, Lucid Air, in Switzerland. Coinciding with the launch of Swiss deliveries, Lucid Motors has also unveiled the pricing details for two additional variants of the remarkable electric vehicle.
The momentous occasion was marked by a special event held in Zurich, where the first Lucid Air EVs in the Dream Edition were ceremoniously handed over to customers. Notably, the prestigious five-star hotel, The Dolder Grand, served as the backdrop for this significant event, deviating from the customary location of Lucid’s flagship store in Geneva. While the limited edition Lucid Air Dream Edition began its European deliveries in Germany and the Netherlands in December 2022, Switzerland joins the roster approximately six months later.
Reports indicate that the Lucid Air Dream Edition encompasses two distinct versions. The Dream Edition Performance variant, designed for power enthusiasts, impresses with a remarkable 828 kW output and an impressive WLTP range of 861 kilometers. On the other hand, the Dream Edition Range model prioritizes efficiency and offers an impressive range of 883 kilometers while delivering 696 kW of power. It is worth noting that even though the Range model is less powerful than its counterpart, it remains far from feeble.
Lucid Motors has refrained from disclosing the specific variant chosen by the initial customers in Switzerland, nor have they provided information regarding the projected volume of deliveries for the alpine nation throughout the year.
In May, Lucid Motors revealed the pricing details for the Air Pure AWD and Air Touring variants in Germany, the Netherlands, Switzerland, and Norway. The Air Pure AWD model is priced at CHF125,000, while the Air Touring variant carries a price tag of CHF145,000 in Switzerland. Deliveries of these models are expected to commence later this year across the four aforementioned countries.
In the recently published Charging Index report by P3 consultancy, the Lucid Air Grand Touring, the top-tier model in the Lucid Air lineup, secured the top spot as the best model for long-distance journeys due to its exceptional fast charging capacity. Currently available exclusively in the United States, the Grand Touring model is yet to make its way to Europe.
As Lucid Motors embarks on its Swiss venture, car enthusiasts and sustainability advocates alike eagerly anticipate the arrival of the Lucid Air luxury sedan and the positive impact it will have on the electrification of transportation in the country.
