Luxury electric vehicle manufacturer Lucid Motors is set to expand its vehicle lineup with the introduction of a specialized security vehicle, initially designated for service with the Saudi Arabian police force. Lucid has established substantial connections with Saudi Arabia, as the kingdom’s sovereign wealth fund holds a majority stake of over 60% in the automaker.
Recently, Lucid inaugurated a new manufacturing facility, AMP-2, in Saudi Arabia, where Air sedans are re-assembled after pre-construction at AMP-1 in Casa Grande, Arizona.
The strong ties between Lucid and Saudi Arabia extend to a significant purchase agreement, with the Saudi Arabian government committing to acquiring up to 100,000 Air sedans over a ten-year period.

While Lucid has yet to officially announce the project, the company is poised to unveil its police vehicle at the World Defense Show in Riyadh, commencing on February 4. Preliminary glimpses of the Lucid police car have surfaced, depicting the classic black and white paint scheme, with the vehicle showcased at the exhibition covered in plastic to safeguard it from dust.

Although the formal debut is scheduled for the upcoming week, the Lucid police car has already been in use in Saudi Arabia, notably spotted in the King’s motorcade last week. The expansion of Lucid’s offerings to include a dedicated security vehicle aligns with the company’s broader engagement and commitment to the automotive market in Saudi Arabia.
