Kia shuts down Stinger GT in UK, replaced by all-electric EV6 GT

Kia has announced that the Stinger GT will be officially lethal in the UK. Later, the position of the Stinger GT will be replaced by the all-electric EV6 GT.

The Kia Stinger GT is a high-performance fastback that is quite popular, especially in North America and Australia. In the UK, Kia’s 360hp turbocharged V6 petrol model was warmly welcomed and could rival premium sedans such as the BMW M340i and Audi S4 .

But sales of the Stinger GT have never been good in the UK, its large body and extravagant gasoline engine are factors that make the British public reluctant to buy it.

The manufacturer will now focus its resources on shipping the EV6, Sportage, and Niro crossovers, all of which are selling out faster than Kia could ever make.

The successor to the Stinger GT, the EV6 is a pure electric car. This high-performance EV model is very frightening, as it can beat Ferrari and Lamborghini in the race.

The Kia EV6 can compete with the best in its class, as it has 576 hp, goes from 0 to 60 mph in just 3.4 seconds, and can reach a top speed of 161 mph.

The car is powered by a 77.4 kWh battery, 160 kW front motor and 270 kW rear motor. For superior performance, Kia includes “Drift Mode”, which distributes power to the rear wheels.

In a sign of the changing times, the Kia EV6 GT performance car is now poised to “take over the reins” of its UK flagship Stinger as the auto industry transitions to electric.
