The Kia EV9 electric SUV has been spotted on a road test complete with camouflage all over its body. Kia’s latest electric car is seen being tested at the Nurburgring Circuit, Germany.
The appearance of the Kia EV9 looks rounder than the concept that was revealed some time ago. The wheel arches are round, not trapezoidal as shown in the concept.
In addition, this new car also looks to have a lower ground clearance and has the proportions of a front-drive based SUV. But overall, this electric SUV still has a boxy shape and a tall and wide front fascia.
At the rear there are the same lights as in the concept, wide fenders, and door handles that blend into the body. The rear of the Kia EV9 looks very large with a rear glass that is not too wide.
This electric car uses the same E-GMP platform used on the Kia EV6 and also the Hyundai Ioniq 5. The electrical system is 800 volts and is capable of fast charging up to 350 kW and is claimed to be able to reach a maximum distance of 482 kilometers.
The Kia EV9 will be launched in the United States in the second half of 2023. The electric car will likely be offered with a choice of single rear motor and rear wheel drive or it could use dual front and rear motors with all-wheel drive.
