KG Mobility, the South Korean automaker that rose from the ashes of bankrupt SsangYong, is making waves at the Seoul Mobility Show with its display of three new all-electric vehicle concepts. The O100 pickup, KR10 mid-size SUV, and F100 futuristic SUV were designed to communicate KG Mobility’s mission statement to the world and showcase the company’s vision for the segments it plans to compete in.
The F100 is the most avant-garde of the three concepts, with a grille made entirely of customizable LED lights that reflect the owner’s mood or personality. Although the vehicle’s silhouette is less futuristic, it bears a strong resemblance to the Toyota FJ Cruiser.
The O100 is described as a mid-size pickup for urban drivers, with a design inspired by the Torres EVX. KG Mobility envisions it with V2L connectors that enable owners to power their tools on a worksite or their cooler on the beach.
The KR10 is a follow-up to the SsangYong Korando and should look familiar to Korean customers. KG Mobility claims it’s the leading SUV in Korea and has made some improvements to the vehicle, which is now pushing 40 years old.
KG Mobility also showcased the Torres EVX, which is a bit larger than the KR10 and boasts a range of around 310 miles (500 km) thanks to lithium iron phosphate batteries from China’s BYD. The Torres is expected to go on sale this fall, with a starting price of around $23,116 USD.
In addition to the new vehicle concepts, KG Mobility also revealed a new EV platform that can deliver two or four-wheel-drive depending on the circumstances, and will underpin vehicles starting in 2026.
Overall, KG Mobility’s presence at the Seoul Mobility Show demonstrates the company’s commitment to advancing the electric vehicle industry and establishing itself as a major player in the market. With innovative designs and cutting-edge technology, KG Mobility is poised to make a significant impact on the future of transportation.
