Kempower, a charging station provider, has installed new DC chargers at three Coop supermarket locations across Switzerland, with plans to expand to more sites in the coming months. The installations are part of a growing partnership with Energie 360°, Kempower’s distribution partner based in Zurich.
The newly installed chargers are located in Winterthur, Riddes, and at the Regensdorf shopping center. The Winterthur site features a single charger with two charging points, each capable of delivering up to 150 kW. In Riddes, two chargers with four charging points are capable of a combined output of 600 kW. The Regensdorf location has a larger setup, with seven chargers, each with one charging arm, providing a total output of 1,050 kW.
Kempower’s collaboration with Energie 360° has already resulted in the installation of DC chargers at Coop locations in Haag and Dietlikon. The company emphasized the importance of the partnership, with Philipp Oppolzer, Regional Business Development Director at Kempower, stating, “The collaboration with Energie 360° and the associated provision of Kempower satellites to Coop locations in Switzerland is valuable for us, as together we are driving the future of electromobility.” Oppolzer further added that the partnership aims to set new standards for “reliable and user-friendly charging infrastructure that will accelerate the transition to electric mobility across the region.”
Kempower has indicated that further installations at additional Coop supermarket locations are planned, though no specific details on the timeline or number of future sites have been provided.
