Hertz again added their electric vehicle portfolio with 175,000 EV from GM over the next five years.
Previously, Hertz had used an electric vehicle from Tesla for their fleet. The agreement with GM made making Hertz add electric vehicles from Chevrolet, Buick, GMC, Cadillac, and Brightdrop for their fleet. Hertz did not reveal in more detail related to the agreement with the GM, but noted that they would reach various vehicle categories.
Hertz customers will be able to find various kinds of electric vehicles from Chevrolet including Blazer EV, Equinox EV, and Silverado EV. Other models that can be added are Cadillac Lyriq and GMC Sierra EV that will come.

The first delivery of GM electric vehicles will be carried out in the first quarter of 2023 when Hertz received the initial batch of Bolt EV and Bolt Euv. The number of shipments will increase when GM increases their EV production capacity between 2023 and 2025.
Increasing the production capacity of GM electric vehicles will be driven by the opening of the Ultium Cells battery cell factory in Ohio, Tennessee, and Michigan.
“We are thrilled to partner with GM on this initiative, which will dramatically expand our EV of hertz customers, Including Leisure and Business Travelers, Rideshare Drivers and Corporates.” said CEO Hertz Stephen Scherr
Previously, Hertz also used electric vehicles from Polestar and Tesla for their rental fleet.
Previously, a car rental company announced plans to buy 100,000 Tesla Model 3 and was followed by plans to buy up to 65,000 EV from Polestar.
